SFIHHDF AWARD HONOREES

Each year, the San Francisco International Hip Hop DanceFest awards individuals who play key roles in the community, and who are major advocates for the DanceFest.

Raul "Rj KoolRaul" Navalta is a product of hip hop culture. He is a world-renowned Bboy, featured on syndicated TV shows such as America's Best Dance Crew and So You Think You Can Dance. He is also a member of The Triple Threat Djs, an internationally sought-after DJ group founded in 1999 and based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Turning passion into profession, Raul holds the role of Managing Director at Creative Transit Agency LLC, a marketing agency that brings brands and communities together through curated design & experience.  RJ started the CTA to establish a new standard in talent & project management.  The vision is to lead an agency that represents its' talents' goals and understands clients' needs while contributing to the rich creative arts culture of the Bay Area.

Awards will be presented at the 26th Annual San Francisco International Hip Hop DanceFest at the closing night after-party following the 5pm show November 10.

Shaherose Charania and Rocky Tang

Shaherose and Rocky met in Micaya’s Mission in the Mix beginner workshop. They are now married and have welcomed their beautiful child Zayd into the world and the DanceFest family. In addition to being beloved members of the SFIHHDF donor community, Rocky and Shaherose continue to contribute their time and talents to support the festival’s survival and success. Rocky helped manage a major website overhaul and technical issue resolution. Shaherose is an important advisor to the DanceFest’s board, helping to strengthen the festival’s capacity and mission. The SFIHHDF is tremendously grateful to Shaherose and Rocky for being bright Limelights through their kindness, generosity, and passion.

Fumi Nishimura

Fumi has been a vital member of the SFIHHDF family for over 16 years. He is the DanceFest’s web developer, email administrator, domain manager, and technical support guru. In addition to these important roles, Fumi houses and transports the DanceFest’s merchandise inventory and volunteers at many special events. Fumi’s plethora of talents, warm heart, and loving support make him a true All Star. The DanceFest is deeply thankful and delighted to honor him. We love you, Fumi!
